About VC Foundation

Visionary Care (VC) Foundation Cameroon is a non-profit apolitical organization that was founded in February 2021 as Vision and Care Center with the goal of protecting vulnerable women and girls from all forms of sexual and Gender- based violence as well as empower them through vocational training.

However due to challenges in legalizing it under the aforementioned name, the name was changed to Visionary Care Foundation (VC Foundation) Cameroon in July 2022 and was legalized in September 7th 2022

Our Programmes

  • We campaign, raise awareness and carry out advocacy against violence on women, girls and children
  • We engage men, boys , women and girls in the fight against rape and sexual assault of young girls in the communities and school milieus
  • We collaborate with survivors of sexual and domestic violence to combat VAWG in the communities and schools
  • We work in partnership with other human rights actors, government and informal community mechanisms to eradicate rape and sexual violence in the communities
  • We strengthen capacities of informal protection mechanisms, parents and community stakeholders on GBV
  • We provide psychosocial support to female and children survivors of all forms of abuse
  • We do case management of Violence against Women, Girls and Children
  • We carry out GBV mainstreaming and integrate GBV in all our interventions
  • We create gender and safe clubs in schools
  • We carry out awareness raising on sexual assault and rape over the radio
  • We train parents and community stakeholders on The Positive Parenting Programme (PPP) and rights of the child and child abuse.
  • We work with parents, community and administrative authorities to end sexual abuse and exploitation of children, teenage pregnancies and forced marriages in the communities
  • We mainstream and integrate child protection in all our community initiatives
  • We work in partnership with schools and daycare centers to provide leisure and recreational activities for children
  • We work in collaboration with the government to provide civil documentation for vulnerable children
  • We carry out campaigns on the Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV/AIDS
  • We sensitize the community on the prevention of malaria in children
  • We sensitize communities and pregnant women on the importance of vaccinating their children
  • We carry out educative talks in schools and communities on sexual violence
  • We organize life skill and social integration activities
  • We provide educational materials and financial support to vulnerable children for quality and sustainable education.

    • We educate young girls on their menstrual cycle
    • We educate women and girls on personal hygiene
    • We partner with other organizations and the government to end period poverty by training young girls on the fabrication of reusable pads

Our Team

Organizational Structure

The activities of VCF Cameroon are piloted by the following organs:

The Executive Board

6 Members
The board is constituted of 6 members with different professional backgrounds. It meets twice a year (January and July) to discuss about matters affecting the organization, evaluate activities, provide directives and way forward for the organization. It is headed by the president of the organization.

The Board of Trustees

5 Members
The board is made up of five members from different backgrounds and is headed by a board chair. It is responsible in ensuring the organizations accountability to the public, partners, and communities. Equally, it ensures conformance to the law, and oversees the organizations operations.

The Coordination Unit

.
This unit is charged with the responsibility of coordinating the day to day activities of the organization. It is responsible for the planning, implementing and follow-up of all organizations activities. It is made up of the president who is also the Executive Director, administrator, the program’s officer, the communication/information management officer, volunteers and the field officer. This unit meets monthly and is headed by the Executive Director.
